SKINCARE - Skin Care Tips
Natural skin care
is the care of the skin (the largest organ of the body) using
naturally-derived ingredients (such as herbs, roots, essential oils
and flowers) combined with naturally occurring carrier agents,
preservatives, surfactants, humectants and emulsifiers (everything
from natural soap to oils to pure water).
The classic definition
of natural skin care is based on using botanically sourced
ingredients currently existing in or formed by nature, without the use
of synthetic chemicals, and manufactured in such a way to preserve the
integrity of the ingredient.
As a result of this
definition, many people who use natural skin care products,
generally make their own products at home from naturally occurring
ingredients. |

The skin is the body's outer
covering. It protects us against heat, light, injury, and infection.
It regulates body temperature and stores water, fat, and vitamin D.
Weighing about 6 pounds, the skin is the body's largest organ. It is
made up of two main layers: the outer epidermis and the inner dermis. |

While there are many wife's tales
surrounding the benefits of certain skincare ingredients,
scientific studies have proven that such ingredients as Chamomile
have demonstrated healing and anti-inflammatory properties when
applied topically. Many people use natural skin care recipes to
make remedies to care for their skin at home.
Many spas and skin care salons
now focus on using more naturally derived skin care products.
Over the past ten years, several companies have been started to make
available completely natural products to the general public.
Skin cancer is the most common
type of cancer in the United States. According to current estimates,
40 to 50 percent of Americans who live to age 65 will have skin cancer
at least once. Although anyone can get skin cancer, the risk is
greatest for people who have fair skin that freckles easily--often
those with red or blond hair and blue or light-colored eyes. |

Thornton Wilder's The Skin Of Our Teeth , despite having won a Pulitzer, is a play that's hard to appreciate on anything more than an intellectual level. It's clear the author's intent (mostly a commentary on the devastation of war and how we're destined to repeat our mistakes). There are more than a few clever literary allusions, many of them Biblical. The play's dour, end-of-the-world ... Publ.Date : Wed, 23 Jul 2008 17:29:57 GMT
